Multi-Dimensional Musings

Many of you have heard cerebral pundits ponder the comlpexity of multi-dimensional spaces, and been told not to even try to imagine these spaces because your brain is not even capable of thinking about how to imagine it. (Youre just not smart enough) They write stories, and lessons that attempt to coerce you to to believing that for some reason our minds are stuck in the four dimensional space time continium, yet down the hall they are paid to instruct the entire universe(s) is a projection of the consciousness from within the reader. This that follows will make no claim to be true or tested under any re-peatable observable method in practial use today. (The argument will and should follow in the posts that follow this post)

The Hand and the Vase

A hand reaches out through the open air slicing through the puff of smoke that linger reaching for the vase on the highest shelf. It was stripped, and had been sitting atop the hutch for some time now. As the fingers touch the glass vase there lies a mystery of interactions at the sub-atomic level. Heat from the hand enters the crystaline structure as well as the electric charge from finger to thumb (even greater if held in two hands).

When's A Boson Called Down?

When's a boson called down?

Its a quark, you know.

What's up?. . . Hum, Charming, but Strange.

The down, thats a quark, and a boson's no quark.

Not in the light, nor in the dark.

Just a Passage

Dr. Erwin Schrodinger wrote that a cat, in a hat, was that and not that.

In a hat? That and not that?

How can this be, that cat in that hat is that and not that?

It is easy, for you to know. Sit back and watch the show.

If I take a cat, a really hungry cat. (meow)

And put the cat in a hat is there a cat in that hat?

Yes, in the hat is the cat. Is it a base ball hat? Should I get my baseball bat?

It is as big a hat as you can want, big enough for an elephant.

Like an oversized ten gallon hat, I hear Cowboys like to wear that.

But this cat? the this and that cat? Should I feed our cat? Our hungry cat?

Oh, that! Do not you worry about about our cat. I have some friends taking care of that.

Well did they come and feed our cat? We were busy picking our hat!

I do not know, would you look at that! They are rather reliable who feed our cat.

They are there when you need. Every hour indeed. they have a half chance of being about, and a half chance of not.

So how will we know if our cat has been fed? Let us look inside the hat? how about that?

We can look inside, and I say we should. But look at our cat in that hat thats that and not that!

That and not that? there you go again! What is so that and not that about our skinny or fat cat?

Well you just replied with a question and the answer is both and neither!

So our cat in the hat is skinny and fat?

For now, that is that. Our friends either came or did not, there is no way to tell. They dont leave a note, or even a smell.

So for now till we look, we will have to assume, inside the hat, which is inside this room, our that and not that cat is both that and not that.

Is this the way that Schrodinger wrote? UUMMMMMM, here's a quote:

The world is given to me only once, not one existing and one perceived. Subject and object are only one. The barrier between them cannot be said to have broken down as a result of recent experience in the physical sciences, for this barrier does not exist.

Possible thesis ideas

RE: Cosmology and the Standard Model of Physics.

Given: Cosmology deals with the vast spaces of our known universe, and makes Educated Guesses about the spaces beyond.

Given: The Standard Model of Physics attempts to describe the behavior of very small spaces. It describes a universe of constant interactions between Quarks and Bosons.

Noted: Although the Standard Model describes some 15 different particles many of them either do not normally exist, or are far too small to ever be directly observed.

Noted: Also, Cosmology offers descriptions of the universe that are theoretical and unobservable.

Pondered: Is it possible that the particles that do not normally exist, and the indescribable regions of the universe(s) have quite a bit in common?

Pondered: Or is it possible the lattice of Bosons which create the fabric of space time is continuously uninterrupted for the region we are here now.

And Finally: What role does the sun, stars, and other galaxial features play in shaping this smooth blanket of Higgs Bosons, and what risk is there to the apparent quality of this smoothness?

Answer these questions, win a trip to Conshohocken and a glass of water.

Standard Model Storm

The Standard Model of Physics speaks of things that are too small to be possibly seen by any imaginable instrument. These things are popularly known as quarks. Quarks are not things like a table or a breeze, but the make other really small things like protons and neutrons. And for that matter protons are not things either. Nor electrons.
